She is also the co–artistic director and founding member of The National Theatre of the World alongside Matt Baram.

Her film and television credits include Saw 3D, Two 4 One, Being Erica, and Degrassi: The Next Generation.

What were you like as a teen?
I liked organizing shows and performing. I think I was bossy and forthright! 🙂

Did you have an un-sexy starter job?
SO many! Gave me a sense of humor.
What do you consider to be your biggest comedy achievement to date?
Second City.
When you were coming up incomedy, what helped you stick with it?
Knowing I wouldn’t be happy doing anything else.
Have you ever dealt with trolls?
Yes. I try to laugh at them and not let the bastards get me down.
On your deathbed, what transcendent advice would you croak at a young comedian?
Keep going. No one can stop you getting up early in the morning and pursuing your dream.
Best comedy advice you ever got?
Just do it! Practice, make mistakes, get back up, and do it again.
Worst comedy advice you ever got?
If you have to question what you’re doing then you shouldn’t do it.
How has being funny helped you in your life?
Handling stress and grief.
What specific things should a novice comic do to shape their voice?
Practice every day. Write, tell jokes, create art. So for walks, meditate, live the dream you want.
Was there one person who inspired you to go into comedy?
My husband Matt Baram, Catherine Ohara, Robin Duke, and Andrea Martin.
Do you have a writing routine?
I write “bits” on cards. I tell my husband. We see what makes us both laugh.
What is your go-to show?
The Office.
